Something is bothering me about the Gaijin Gamers and their plans to do away with the pitched up voices. In my opinion, the voices are a big part in the Gaijin Gamers' appeal.
Gaijin Goombah doesn't want to play the character anymore, which he has said before and the compromise For Gaijin to use his real voice but still under the moniker. YouTube is his job and dropping the whole gimmick can lose him money. Gaijin is at a crossroad right now. I assume he never thought that him being a YouTuber would become his job. He as also said that people don't recognize him when at cons and other events but that isn't truth as any fan can recognize him.
But lets look at Allochii and Akiterra, whose characters main appeal is the pitched up voice. This change will affect them the most. Aki's character is very hyperactive and a lot of her wacky actions are affected by the squeaky voice. It's this that really appeals to my love of the character.
